1) The Importance of Communication
WHY DO WE COMMUNICATE? This question is a big question as well as interesting to talk about. From a religious point of view, we know that God is the one who teaches us to communicate through the intellect and language that He has bestowed upon us. We should be grateful given the intellect and language skills so that we can communicate. Not everyone can communicate. Look at the friends who are around you who for some reason can't communicate.
2) Understanding and Elements of Communication

This message can be communicated by communicators by face to face or through communication media. The contents may be information, advice, entertainment, or propaganda. Media, or also called a channel-channel communication where the passage of messages from the communicator to the communicant.
There are several which surfaces of communications media. For example, there are those who argue that in the context of interpersonal communication, the five senses and the air are considered as a medium of communication. Likewise, with letters, telephones, telegrams are often classified inter-personal communication medium. Television, radio, newspapers, magazines, films, computers, video recording, audio cassettes and the like are often classified as mass communication media.
The recipient, often called the communicant, receiver, audience, kayak, or target that is receiving messages from communicators. The recipient is an important element in the communication process because he is the target of communication. Therefore, knowing, understanding the characteristics of the message receiver is one of the key factors in communicating.
These environments may take the form of the physical environment (geographic conditions), the socio-cultural environment (language, customs, social status), psychological environment (psychological condition, age), and time dimension (seasons) that indicate the appropriate situation for communication.
The six elements mentioned above emphasize the key factors in which each element has an important and interrelated role in the communication process. In another sense, if one of the elements above does not work well then the communication process will be interrupted or will not be effective.
