20 Factory Workers Killed Burned in Bus

BANGKOK, iNews - Bus or double-decker accidents carrying migrant workers in Tak Province, Thailand, on Friday (30/3/2018) morning, killed 20 people. The bus suddenly caught fire on the way to an industrial area near Bangkok.

According to police reports, the bus burned around 1:30 am local time. The crash site is close to the Myanmar border. The bus was transporting factory workers from Myanmar.

Local police official Raewat Aiemtak said 27 people had escaped, but one was burned.

The fire first appeared in the middle and spread quickly. It is not known what causes the fire. Passengers on the front can save themselves, but those in the back are trapped and burned to death.

This is the second deadly bus accident in about a week. On March 21, 18 people were killed after a double-decker tour bus lost control and crashed into a tree until it was cut in two in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

The World Health Organization (WHO) put Thailand second in the list of deaths due to traffic accidents after Libya.
